it was a good idea to include Pompeii in my place to go list. all of the sudden, it's just a worth idea. i joined a one day Rome-Pompeii tour with about 40 other tourists. It took 3 hours to reach Pompeii. the funny thing is that the tour guide can easily switch her languange and accent from english to spanish. after some explanation, she said thankyou and suddenly she said vale (or bale), a spanish word i heard when i was in Barca, usually to respond when somebody say gracias. i dont know the exact meaning. but that tour guide was so funny with that.
and in Pompeii, we walk almost 3 hours, guided by a local guide. i said to my new friend that it was like walking around the village as it is so big. the local guide explained things which sometimes i already knew. i guess, he has been telling the same story thousand times. also with his expression. no wonder he remember all :)
Well, Pompeii.. it has a high civilization. the houses were arranged so well. but i just feel that there isn't wide space between houses. i dont know why they arranged it that way, in my opinion, 2000 years ago when there weren't many people like today, they should have built a bigger and more space house. or perhaps it was for safety reason. the architect must have taken a deep consideration regarding every corner of Pompeii. it was set to let people know each other, have a close interaction among them. and the social and government systems might be clear for those people. i think gossip could spread easily at this place :)
well. the trip was so good with some new friends. and we got back at 5. we arrived in Rome at 9 but there was a strike so we were trapped in a jam for almost 40 minutes. and i arrived in Termini to catch taxi at 10 in the night. so scary as i was alone in Rome. nobody i should trust i know. i had to queue for about 25 mins. it was a long long long queue, and my mobile was lowbat. what a perfect situation. it was dangerous i know. but thank God, all was good.
well, Pompeii.. finally i went there. but i couldnt find the walls where the words i remember located. i forgot to ask the guide.
